The Alpinestars SM5 Helmet Solid Matt Black / Brown is meticulously crafted to offer MX riders superior protection and unparalleled comfort. This lightweight helmet boasts a thermo-injected shell, made from a special polymer blend with varying thicknesses, engineered to provide optimal impact protection without compromising on weight. The five-density EPS liner ensures precise density placement for enhanced impact absorption.
The SM5 helmet features a technologically advanced, impact-resistant thermoplastic outer shell available in three anatomical shell sizes. Complemented by three individual EPS inner liner sizes, the combination of inner lining and cheek padding offers six unique sizes, guaranteeing the best fitment and maximum protection. An engineered raised area with padding effectively reduces forces transmitted to the collarbone. Additionally, a patented visor release system ensures the visor detaches with the correct force, regardless of impact angle.
Significant revisions to the medium, large, XL, and 2XL lower shell volumes have made the helmet approximately 3% wider, facilitating easier on and off. This increased helmet volume also enhances impact management performance, with the SM5 achieving a 44% lower impact threshold than the regular-speed standard. The helmet meets the new ECE 22.06 standard, delivering a 44% improvement in regular-speed impact ratings, and better low-speed and high-speed linear impact scores by 32% and 31%, respectively.
The redesigned chin bar, with its sculpted base area, offers a relief section raised to clear the collarbone. The new softer EPS liner extends beyond the helmet shell, covered by a flexible rubber compound, reducing the likelihood of collarbone injuries. Enhanced ventilation is achieved through multiple air inlets and exhaust ports, ensuring maximum airflow and heat transfer. The visor is designed to direct air into the ports for improved airflow, while the inner and outer surfaces are engineered to minimize oblique impact effects. CONSTRUCTION
- The inner and outer surfaces are engineered to minimize the effects of oblique impacts. To help fight and mitigate those rotational impact forces, Alpinestars has designed a proprietary technology by creating a low friction surface on the inner surface of the EPS liner. For the ECE 22.06 standard, which now includes the rotational oblique impact rating, the SM5 scores 70% under the new regulation

If you are ordering goods for delivery outside the UK, please note that your consignment may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once the goods reach the country of destination. Refunds of any returned order will be of items, not the services incurred.

Royal Mail deliveries are sent by Royal Mail 48 so will normally arrive within a maximum of 2-3 working days. DHL deliveries are usually made within 48 hours but may be longer for remote areas. Express shipping is usually the next working day except for remote areas. If your item has not arrived within 5 working days on either service then please contact us by email hello@lagunadirect.co.uk .
All orders placed up until 9.00am are dispatched the same working day. Any order placed after 9.00am may not be dispatched until the next working day.
Returns & refunds:
Your right to cancel and return begins from when you place the order and ends 30 working days from when you received the goods. If you wish to cancel or return your order you must inform us by email at hello@lagunadirect.co.uk within this time frame. The buyer is responsible for paying the return postage and ensuring the goods are received back by us in as new condition. If you receive a faulty or broken item you will be offered either a choice of a refund or replacement. Any return postage costs if an item is faulty or broken will be paid by lagunadirect.co.uk
